Why Local? Why is it important to buy local flowers? Well just like the food you eat, you have many choices when purchasing fresh flowers. But nearly 80% of the fresh flowers on the market are not even grown in North America! They’re flown in from Columbia, Ecuador, Mexico, and all the way from the Netherlands and Israel. Not only are those flowers incurring a pretty heavy carbon footprint, but they are nowhere near as fresh as what you can find locally. The imported blooms are often bred for their transport abilities (vs. qualities like smell) and naturally have to be cut many days before they make it into your hands. Lastly, the local flower trend is also one that finds many growers striving to grow as sustainably and responsibly as possible - We want you to feel comfortable dipping your nose into that bouquet knowing that you’ll be drinking in their beautiful scent - and nothing else!
